Silk & Pearl: to Build Strong, Resilient Skin
In addition to the energetic properties of pearl, it contains an antioxidant that boosts the efficacy of the superoxide dismutase enzyme. Pearl is rich in amino acids, contains more than 30 trace minerals and provides signal proteins that stimulate the regeneration of collagen (which improves skin’s barrier function for retaining moisture) as well as a complex protein called conchiolin which inhibits Tyrosinase, an enzyme which is responsible for hyperactivity in melanin production.

Silk peptides can help retain moisture while improving the skin’s ability to repair cells, promote cell regeneration and improve overall elasticity and suppleness. Fibroin is the protein which makes up the structural center of silk. This type of silk is known to reduce inflammation by increasing circulation and cell metabolism which in turn promotes an even skin tone and may prevent cellular degradation. It has a unique ability to bring blood flow to damaged (scar) tissue and blend into the development of new skin. Amino acids to note: glycine can help to repair damaged tissue and speed up healing while Alanine is able to combine with epidermal cells to fill up creases like cement, creating a stronger first line of defense.

Diatomaceous Earth provides bioavailable silica, which is an important nutritional element that is used by the body to create both keratin and collagen, elements that are integral to the composition of hair, skin and nails. Though the body doesn’t absorb them directly through the skin, the vibrational energy matches that of the silica within the tissues, resulting in better tissue function.

To use:

  • Measure 1/8 tsp Silk & Peals to a small bowl, mix in 1/2 tsp hot water to form a runny paste and pat onto the areas you wish to build resiliency
  • Then, add 2 tbsp of hot water and mix well at this point you may add it to 2 tsp of a Clay Mask
  • Or add 3.5 oz hot water or herbal infusion and mix again. Dip a compression towel into the mixture and apply to face
  • 1/8 tsp may also be added to 1/8 tsp Integrity Biome Mask + 1/2 tsp hot water and applied as a mask after cleansing and before steam or a hot towel.
