Apprentice Circles for Holistic Practitioners
We currently hold apprentice circles weekly at our Windsor Terrace or Columbia Street Location in Brooklyn.
Apprentice circles are a real good time. We purposely try to have a balanced amount of Senior Apprentices (1+ years) as well as New Practitioners at the circles and it is completely O.K. to attend the same circle over and over again when it comes up--your understanding will simply get deeper and deeper.
The weekly agenda is as follows:
9:30 am Door opens, mingle
10 am - 12:30 Lecture on the topic/discussion or demonstration
12:30pm Q&A and Clean-up
Most days there is an opportunity for Practitioner Apprentices to stay until 2pm to practice on one another.
The actual session runs from 10 am until 12:30 (You may take your own breaks as needed) Apprentices are encouraged to get here at 9 am to drink some tea (or grab delicious food from across the street) and chat before we start. Clean-up is at 12:30 and usually is completed by 1pm. Please be considerate and help clean up before lunch and chit-chat!
Even if you cannot make it to the Apprentice Circle, all Practitioners are encouraged to follow along with the group time line, utilizing the suggested materials in the Educational Hub.
Helpful notes for practitioners who are just joining us
- Practitioner Apprentices are encouraged to come to as many Apprentice Circles as they can within the 2 years of their apprenticeship.
- Practitioners who are using our product in a private practice (and have attended orientation) can attend for $35 (until Sept 2022)
- Estheticians and Practitioners who are not yet a part of Brooklyn Herborium or who do not use our products within your practice may attend an apprentice circle for $225 or get a private training in a topic for $450.
- Holistic Practitioner Mentors (Crones) are invited to sit in at any time. We value your presence and experience.
- If you would like to be a Model for a specific demonstration, please contact Emma through the form and we see what we can make happen.

Helpful notes for practitioners who are just joining us
- Please understand that our practitioner circles are NOT a “here is what I do, let’s share ideas” session—they are specifically “here is the spiral lens/supportive skincare perspective” lessons and how to hone your spiral lens to use within your own practice. We are not saying that the “alternative/heroic” method does not have any validity, but those ideas are overwhelmingly pushed in holistic skin care groups and we want to help you narrow the focus on this specific way of looking at the skin.
- The more that you know about both conventional (linear) and alternative (circular) skin care methods, the more you will be corrected and be given the suggestion to take a different angle. At the same time, the more educated and experienced you are in conventional and alternative methods the HARDER it is to see a situation through a spiral lens…And then one day your circular vision will split off into a spiral and you will be able to look beyond what you have been trained to see. As you polish up that lens, everything will start to make sense and come together, until one day you completely forget that you ever saw it any other way.
Apprentice Circles are usually held Wednesdays from 9:30 am - 12:30pm

Practitioner Practice Days (CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)
Coming Up: Tuesday March 3rd, 2020 These are free form days where we invite who ever is around and wants to practice to get hands-on on each other. If there is a large group, we set out cots and Emma will only butt-in if necessary or if there is a technique everyone wants to practice at the same time. We can start as early as 11 and go until close (6:30 clean up - 7 o’clock out) if people are still working. We need to be conscious of the facials scheduled for that day—and we will be working in the sanctuary/classroom if someone is in the service room. There is no charge for a practice day. |
