Advanced Massage Techniques
The Alignment Technique, The Breakdown Technique, The Contour Technique, The Drainage Technique
These four techniques (referred to as A, B, C, & D-how handy!) make up the Reflexology as well as the Fascia & Lymphatic Manipulation of our massage.
A
The Alignment Technique is the most important and widely used protocol in Facial Point Stimulation. It is similar to acupressure or reflexology (Dien Chan) in that using a point on the surface of one part of the body sends a reflexive message to the subtle body and resonates within certain organ systems. It is an extraordinarily relaxing time-proven energetic modality that allows the practitioner and the client to drop into a meditative state that allows the body to focus on internal balance in the body’s quest for total equanimity within all organ systems, increasing overall vitality. We developed this method over many years of clinical practice to simplify obfuscated ancient teachings and return healing back to the self.
B - C - D
Fascia and lymph may be new and exciting to modern medicine and health news these days, but their understanding and exploration have been hinted at for thousands of years in traditional healing modalities. Holistic-minded practitioners (weather they called themselves that or not) already had a good grasp of these important systems of the body and how to support them.
What we teach is a modern method developed at Brooklyn Herborium Practitioners over the course of 20 years to pinpoint the most effective use of Gua Sha (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and enhance it with very basic manual lymphatic drainage techniques in order to achieve lasting, gorgeous results without resorting to painful, invasive, or heroic means.
Paired with elemental energy, it can be focused on lifting saggy skin, even-ing overall skin tone, and reducing puffiness, as well as minimizing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and old scars. The Drainage Technique is not the same as MLD, although we believe it to be just as effective and more enjoyable. This unique way of focusing on lymph is easy on the practitioner and feels extraordinary to the receiver.
TOOLS
We will be working with additional tools, such as Rose Quartz Mushrooms, Crystal Fish, The Nefeli Gua Sha Tool, Various Combs and Rakes as well as our usual Heart-shaped Massage Tool and our Unique Facial Point Stimulation Stainless Wands. Some tools will be available for purchase on this day.
